  Hello followers!
Today I am going to be reviewing The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. At first when my mother handed me this book I was doubtful. But as I began to read I was sucked into the book.
This is an amazing fantasy book about Milo, a boy who has too much time on his hands until he travels to another world through a mysterious tollbooth that appeared in his room. When he is there he goes through many adventures with his new found friends.  I find this book very interesting and there is superb vocabulary.
I think this is a very good book because as I have said many times I'm sure I adore fantasy. Also I really liked some of the characters. Although they were obviously fantasy their characteristics were real. I began to really feel for the characters as I read. I also liked this book because it was always interesting. And in some parts I felt as if I was really there. I would recommend this book to anyone 4th grade or above and I would rate this book 5 stars.

  1. This is very weird---I never read "The Phantom Tollbooth" but I had heard of it years ago. Then just last week, I was looking at the homepage of the famous CalTech neuroscientist Christof Koch, and he said he had recenty re-read the book in its 50th anniversary edition. Here is what he says about it: "I finally read the 50th anniversary edition of the classic children's fairy tale. It resembles Alice in Wonderland. An incredible fondness for puns, wordplays, metaphors, allegories pervades the book. Like the Lewis Carroll's books, it bears re-reading." I was going to try to find a copy, and now you report having read the book too. I will have to borrow it from you, if I don't find it at the local library before I see you. If you and Christof Koch like it, it has to be great!
